About GSA

University of Alabama Graduate Student Association Crimson Logo

Through representation, community, and support, GSA aims to serve all graduate students at The University of Alabama. Our Executive Council undertakes initiatives for the improvement of graduate student life with the help of committees and delegates from graduate programs and departments.

Representation

The GSA is graduate students representing graduate students. We support students by working directly with campus entities to address graduate student concerns.

Community

GSA strives to develop a campus culture that is inclusive of all graduate students and fosters a sense of scholarly community beyond departmental boundaries.

Support

Through GSA initiatives, graduate students know they have a voice on campus, the University is supportive of them, and they are valued and not alone in their experience.

Mission

The mission of GSA is to serve the needs of, advocate for the interests of, and foster collaboration among graduate and professional students, as well as help graduate students voice their concerns to the larger University. The GSA also works with several departments and organizations on campus to provide services and support to graduate students.

Membership

Every graduate student is a GSA member by virtue of enrollment in the University of Alabama Graduate School, unless otherwise stated.
